If there was one show i was mega excited to be working backstage on, it was Louise Gray. I knew it would be crazy, inventive and unpredictable. Exactly what fashion week should be all about.
It was brilliant to see the look, ‘Babydoll Gone Wrong’ come together. Smeared make up, dirty, grubby unwashed hair and a final look that was definitely turning heads.
James O’Riley headed the Mac team to create ‘perfectly imperfect’ made up faces.
Nick Irwin, for TIGI described hair simply as “bonkers and manky.” He used curlers he found in Brixton market, textured the girls tresses with TIGI’s Curlesque Mousse and Session Series wax for an “oily finish, this was cool punk, anti-establishment hair.”
The nail team were led by lovely Katie Hughes for Butter London, the look was long, fierce and grimey, with newspaper print captured over Butter London’s ‘Kerfuffle’, adding to the ‘baglady chic’ style.
Of course the collection was mental, but we all loved it. Tin foil belts, loo roll accessories, and lots of rebel. The perfect injection of different to the same same styles being thrown out there.
