Bare Minerals Pure Transformation Night Treatment: To Bed With Flawless Skin

The new Bare Minerals skincare range is growing on me. I had a bit of a tricky start with it, mostly due to using products that were not for my skin type – but because i have always loved BM make up, i persevered and tried a few more different products. And boy am i glad.

The Pure Transformation Night Treatment has got to to be a flippin fabulous invention (if you can call it that). Its groundbreaking, its different and i adore it. It has many qualities which i happily discuss below. However, i can’t hold back any longer without stating my favourite aspect, and the one thing that no other night treatment can give me – instantaneously flawless skin. YES its true – more about this later, but all i can say is, no more hiding from boyfriends when the make up comes off at night!! Whoop!!
Unlike your usual night treatments this little pot from Bare Minerals doesn’t contain a cream, a serum or even a liquid to apply before bed. No. It contains power, what else.
The idea behind this treatment, which is made of 100%  RareMinerals ActiveSoil Complex (a combined concoction of nutrients and minerals found in soil), is that while you sleep the treatment feeds your skin with mighty minerals essential to the look and health of your skin.

Well nothing novel about this, most night treatments claim the same, however, the difference here is the level of nutrients penetrating the skin is much higher, and more potent. With regular use, it aims to replenish skin for a smoother more even tone, along with reducing pores and increasing firmness. I have seen my skin change in texture over the last 2 months, pore sizes are visible reduced and overall my skin is smoother.
Applied to the skin in gentle circular motions with the buffing brush (which is neatly placed on the inside lid), the treatment goes on daily after nightcream. The powder has a soft texture, and the particles are tiny. The finish is smooth, with imperfections diffused. The tightly packed bristles, although super soft, do require a bit of getting used to. It’s a fairly large brush – as big as one cheek, and not the most flexible. It was the only negative, but i can deal with it.

Ok, so back to the instantly flawless skin. This night treatment is available in four shades; clear, light, medium and tan. I use the medium, and on application, imperfections are magnificently smoothed away. Its amazing, like wearing make up to bed AND it’s fabulous for your skin. I feel much more confident – flawless skin before bed and first thing in the morning. A girls dream come true.

applied to my inside wrist, can just about see the illuminating properties.

Bronzed Addiction

I adore that golden, sun kissed look. I’m not a fan of frying myself under the ageing UV sun, and i don’t really go in for spray tans – i don’t need to as i naturally have olive skin. However, i do like to sport that ‘just back from hols’ golden look. Over the years i have managed to build a fabulous collection of some gorgeous (some not so) bronzers. My latest addition is Faux Tan, all over face colour by BareMinerals.

As with the other BM make up, Faux Tan is a loose power, 100% pure mineral formulation with SPF 15. Its packaged in a gorgeous metallic bronze compact, with a flip top lid and mirror – initially i though this was more practical than a screw top, but then i noticed that the powder leaks from the back of the container when in my make up bag – can be a tad messy!

The luscious, deep brown powder gives a natural holiday colour. You only need a tiny amount, which will go a long way.

Swatched: Faux Tan. This is quite a deep shade as i used quite a lot of product
to show the extent of colour than can be achieved

I apply Faux Tan to all the areas where the sun would naturally catch my face; cheeks, forehead and bridge of my nose. The colour has a touch of shimmer to it which looks lush in the sunlight.

BareMinerals Skincare Range: Tried, Tested and Blogged

Bare Minerals recently launched their debut skincare range. Based on RareMinerals activeSoil Complex, this 100% natural collection includes cleansers, moisturisers and treatments. You can read more about it HERE. I received the range before it launched nationwide, so have been using it for about a month now – is it worth investing in?
Simply put, its an OK range, probably not for me, but here are my thoughts on the products i have been trying out.

Purifying Facial Cleanser: This daily cleanser has a soft smooth texture, foams well and is great at removing make up, including mascara. Its probably the favourite of the 3 BareMinerals products i tried. After cleansing, my skin looked brighter, but did feel a bit tight. I’d probably use this if i was at the gym or traveling, its quick and easy and does the job.
Purely Nourishing Moisturiser: I was actually most excited about using this product, but for me it was the most disappointing. I found that although it had a velvety creamy texture to touch, it didn’t appear to feed or nourish my skin enough. I continued to feel tight and dehydrated after applying, to the point that i would question if i had actually even put the cream on. Possibly better for skins that do not require much moisture attention.
Firming Eye Treatment: This was a comforting and nourishing eye cream. It was basically a nice eye cream, but i didn’t find anything particularly stand out about it. I personally like an eye cream that helps me look perkier on tired days, while also combatting fine lines caused by dryness or early signs of ageing. So far, i haven’t seen anything like this from the BM eye cream. I think this would be a good item for those who simply require light moisture around the eye area. If fine lines are an issue there are better targeted products out there.
Overall, the BareMinerals skincare products are ‘nice‘ rather than fabulous. Something i could take or leave. If you already have pretty good skin that doesn’t need much attention, it will be a good range for you. I liked the cleanser, but not enough to buy it again. I have used other skincare ranges that have provided more of a positive change. I think I’ll stick to BareMinerals for their make up rather than their skincare.

BareMinerals Launch Skincare Range

BareMinerals make up has become one of the UK’s top selling cosmetic brands. Formulated from 100% pure minerals, its a range that gives back to skin in more ways than one. I was instantly hooked. So, with the launch of BareMinerals Skincare imminent, i’m more than curious to discover if these products will have the same impact.

I’ve got some items from the range to try out, so reviews will follow shortly, but for now, here is the lowdown on the BareMinerals Skincare range.

Receiving top reviews in the US, the new skincare products are based on RareMinerals activeSoil Complex. Hmm the idea of pasting soil over skin isn’t particularly appealing to anyone, but fear not, nothing of the sort is expected. In actual fact, RareMinerals is extracted from rich soils and made up of beneficial macro and micro minerals and anti oxidants. It all sounds a bit scientific, but put simply, BareMinerals have continued to keep their debut skincare products mineral based, sourcing ingredients from nature. This complex is said to boost cell turnover, reduce lines, visibly decrease pore size and give skin an overall luminosity. Admittedly, it does all sound very promising, but time will tell.

There range includes cleansers, moisturisers and treatments:
Purifying Facial Cleanser – £15
Deep Cleansing Foam – £15
Purely Nourishing Moisturiser – £27
Firming Eye Treatment – £23
Pure Transformation Nightcream – £45
The full BareMinerals Skincare Range will be available from April in Selfridges and BareMineral Boutiques.
