Bronzer Addiction Continues: NARS Laguna

The bronzer addict in me continues to bloom. So much so in fact that i recently gave up the blusher (was weird at first) and have been donning the mighty bronzer on its lonesome. And i like it. My latest bronzing investment is Laguna by NARS.

I know i’m late on the take up with this one, but i thought i had found the best bronzer ever in the gorgeous little brown compact known as Guerlain Terracotta, not far behind this one is another favourite of mine Benefit’s Hoola.
Anyway back to Laguna.

Its a slightly shimmery one, so if you hate those, you will hate this. I personally think shimmer is key sometimes, it helps achieve a slight glow and perks up those dull days. Just avoid overdoing it, as looking like a disco ball isn’t a great effect.
Laguna is a medium brown terracotta shade, its tiny particles make it super soft and very smooth to wear with a lush silky finish. It suits my olive skin tone well, and i think depending on how it is applied, it could work well on most skins.

This would be a really nice product for summer and holidays, the slight shimmer will help bring out a tan for sure. Also, Laguna would be perfect for evenings out. This doesn’t mean to say i wouldn’t wear it for daytime, i would – but not everyday. I haven’t had it long enough to say if it will become a fave, but so far, the outlook it good. Looking forward to Laguna days ahead!

Worth A Try…

The Body Shop’s Honey Bronze Dry Shimmering Oil.
I am a sucker for these shimmering oils and have been a devotee of the Nuxe version for years. To be perfectly honest, i haven’t been excited about much from The Body Shop since i was 15years old and formed and unhealthy addiction to their Vanilla Musk perfume (which i have thankfully overcome now). However, The Body Shop have done good with this oil, it gives a really lovely bronze colour with a hint of shimmer and no grease. The scent is however very (and i mean VERY) strong – you will either love or hate. It reminds me of a Jo Malone perfume i wore one holiday – so brought back fun memories for me.

There is infact an entire Honey Bronze make-up range also available at The Body Shop that is well worth checking out.

Bronzed Addiction

I adore that golden, sun kissed look. I’m not a fan of frying myself under the ageing UV sun, and i don’t really go in for spray tans – i don’t need to as i naturally have olive skin. However, i do like to sport that ‘just back from hols’ golden look. Over the years i have managed to build a fabulous collection of some gorgeous (some not so) bronzers. My latest addition is Faux Tan, all over face colour by BareMinerals.

As with the other BM make up, Faux Tan is a loose power, 100% pure mineral formulation with SPF 15. Its packaged in a gorgeous metallic bronze compact, with a flip top lid and mirror – initially i though this was more practical than a screw top, but then i noticed that the powder leaks from the back of the container when in my make up bag – can be a tad messy!

The luscious, deep brown powder gives a natural holiday colour. You only need a tiny amount, which will go a long way.

Swatched: Faux Tan. This is quite a deep shade as i used quite a lot of product
to show the extent of colour than can be achieved

I apply Faux Tan to all the areas where the sun would naturally catch my face; cheeks, forehead and bridge of my nose. The colour has a touch of shimmer to it which looks lush in the sunlight.
