LFW AW12: My DIY Vivienne Westwood Nails

Vivienne Westwood runway shows are normally known for they eccentricity and anarchism, but her AW12 show for Red Label was flaunting more wool than war, with models in tweed jackets and wool capes. However, she did throw some random mayhem into the mix when she covered her models in tattoo style symbols along their arms and legs…and nails. Whatever the fashion loving grandma’s message was, i think it all looked pretty cool.

Nails were covered in custom made Minx transfers, the brief had been to create nails which reflected the texture of “the surface of a skateboard”.

Below, I tried painting my nails in the style of the Vivienne Westwood runway nails using a black polish. I didn’t put any base colour on the nail in order to try and get a similar effect to the Minx version.
